Al-Shabab movement strongly rejects having negotiations
with  Somalia's transitional government

The spokesman for al -shabab movement said that  his faction will never sit in front of President Abdullah Yussuf.

“Even if the Ethiopian troops withdraw from Somalia we are determined not to have any peace deal with the transitional government” said Robow.

The spokesman of the armed group said that those who committed crimes against the country and its population to be brought before the justice.

“What they did to the Somali people is unforgettable, and history will tell ” said Mansoor”.

This statement from the spokesman of Al-Shabab coincides with a time when the international community is trying efforts to pull together the two adversaries.

On the other hand these words from the Sheikh my jeopardize the peace reconciliation spearheaded by the Somali premier Noor Hussein Hassan.

It was Aweys' hardline associates before  that led the Shabab and pushed for a jihad against Ethiopia, which was propping up the remnants of Somalia's transitional government. Ethiopia responded with an all-out offensive in December, which crushed the Islamists on the battlefield and swept them from power in Mogadishu
