Somalia: Djibouti president expresses concern about Somali crisis
DJIBOUTI (Mareeg)—Djibouti president Ismail Omar Guelleh has expressed concern Saturday about the ongoing crisis in Somalia and said if the Islamist rebels take control of the country it will cause that the world will invade to Somalia.
Speaking in ceremony commemorating the 32nd anniversary of Djibouti Independence Day which is on June 27 1977, president Guelleh said foreign forces were spoiling the peace of Somalia and were wrecking havoc in the country.
“Somalia belongs to Muslim people that is true, but the Muslim countries are divided today so the people who are claiming that they are doing good things in Somalia are really wrecking havoc in the country and if they capture Somalia, the world will invade to the country and that will be a disaster to the Somali people,” said president Ismail Omar Guelleh.
Guelleh compared the situation in Somalia to Afghanistan and Iraq where Islamist insurgents are fighting against foreign troops.
On the other hand, President Ismail Omar Guelleh has accused Eritrea of being making problems in the Horn of Africa region as whole and in Somalia particularly saying that it imported weapons to the country.
He called for the International community to punish the Eritrean government of what he called its problems in the region.
