MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—Nine African Union peace keepers were killed in two suicide attacks aimed at their main headquarters in the Somali capital Mogadishu.
Felix Kulayigye, the spokesman of Ugandan Forces told BBC Kinyrawanda service that Major General Juvenal Niyoyunguruza, the deputy commander of the AU mission in Somalia and also the commander of the Burundian peace keeper in Mogadishu was killed in the attack. 
General Nathan Mugisha, the commander of AMISOM has also been slightly injured in the attack and is being treated in Mogadishu.
Sources told Mareeg Online that two Land Cruisers with UN logos entered in Halane, the main headquarters of AMISOM and exploded at an office that AMISOM and government officials were meeting.
The source say five men including white carried out the attacks. The UN vehicles were stolen from Baidoa by al Shabaab militants. Al Shabaab claimed the responsibility of the attack.
