Somalia: Islamist soldier kills a doctor in southern town
AFGOYE (Mareeg)—Islamist soldier from Hizbul Islam group has shot dead a doctor in Afgoye town, 30 km south of the Somali capital Mogadishu, witnesses and officials said on Monday.
The deceased doctor named, Bidarey, was killed by Hizbul Islam fighter after the doctor has reportedly rejected to put out a cigarette he was smoking.
The soldier opened fire to the doctor which killed him instantly on the spot.
Three other people have also been wounded in the gunfire which the soldier opened to the doctor.
Sheik Ali Sheik Omar, a spokesman for the Hizbul Islam administration in Afgoye town said they have arrested the soldier who killed the doctor and will bring before Islamic court soon.
The people in the town have expressed concern about the killing of the doctor who was famous in the town and sent condolences to his family.
