Somalia: Moderate, Islamist group condemns the fighting in the country
NAIROBI (Mareeg)—An official from Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a moderate, religious group have strongly condemned Tuesday the wars that are continuing in the country.
Sheik Abdulahi Sheik Abdirahman Abu Yusuf, a spokesman for Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a group, which controls towns in central Somalia, denounced the wars that are still continuing in parts of the country.

Sheik Yusuf said the fighting displaced more Somali, civilians and killed hundreds for the last six months. He added that the fighting was only inflicting casualties to innocent civilians and not those struggling for the control of the country.
He called for the warring sides in the country to stop the fighting and respect the suffering civilians who have been in chaotic situation more that eighteen years.
The call of Ahlu Sunna Waljama’a comes as the fighting against the Somali government and the African Union troops in the country is deteriorated day after day.
Ahlu Sunna Walajama,a is also part of the fighting in Somalia. The group fought against al Shabaab and Hizbul Islam for control in central Somalia and drove al Shabaab out of towns in central Somalia.

There is power struggle between the Islamist groups in Somalia. Al shabaab and Hizbul Islam fought in Kismayo, a port town about 500 km south of Mogadishu.
