NAIROBI (Mareeg)—Blasts targeted at two police stations in the port town of Bosasso in north eastern Somalia under the administration of Puntland semiautonomous authority, witnesses said on Thursday.

Reports from the town say the explosions occurred while the security forces of Puntland were patrolling in the town to tighten the security.

The security forces have made operations in the town in recent days and arrested several people for acts of crimes.

A spokesman for the police said they were tightening the security of the town, which is the main commercial city of Puntland regions of Somalia.

Some reports suggest that the blasts injured police forces in the police stations. Puntland regions had some relative peace and stability.

Puntland police forces have arrested people from the Somali region occupied by Ethiopia and one of the prisoners died in a jail in Bosasso for ill health and torture.
