MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—Hizbul Islam Islamist group have executed Sunday one of their fighters in Afgoye town about 30 km south of the Somali capital Mogadishu.

The Islamist soldier has recently gunned down a famous doctor in Afgoye town and officials from Hizbul Islam said they would bring before Islamic court.

Hundreds of people including the relatives of the deceased doctor and officials from Hizbul Islam gathered in a park in the town where the fighter was executed.

The relatives welcomed the move by the Islamic court under Hizbul Islam rebels who control the town.

People say Hzibul Islam group is different from al Shabaab whom its fighters kill people aimlessly and Shabaab killers are promoted for the work.
