Somalia: Police official gunned down in Puntland
MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—Puntland police officer has been gunned down in Qardo town in Puntland regions by unidentified gunmen, witnesses said on Sunday.
Haykal Ali, who was a security officer, was killed in Qardo overnight by unknown gunmen armed with pistols and escaped after the assassination.
Qardo security forces reached the area where the officer was killed and made search operations, but they have not arrested anyone.
The motive behind his killing is not known. The police has been trying to tighten the security of Punland where people were killed in recent days.
There is no word from Puntland Authorities about the killing of the police officer.
