Somalia: Al Shabaab captures second town from Hizbul Islam
NAIROBI (Mareeg)—Al Shabaab militants have captured a second town from Hizbul Islam group after the group withdrew from the town, witnesses said on Wednesday.
Reports say al Shabaab fighters took over Qoqani town with out fighting and were heading to Dhobley town, a main base of Hizbul supporters near Kenyan Somali border.
On the other hand, al Shabaab lost two senior officials in fierce fighting with Hizbul Islam fighters in Abdalla Birole Village about 40 kilometers in south western of Kismayo, the provincial capital of Lower Jubba region.

The fighting in Abdalla Birole came after two battle wagons of al Shabaab were burnt in fighting between the two groups on Monday.
Reports also suggest that four foreign fighters fighting alongside with al Shabaab were killed in the fighting.
The two Islamist groups used to fight against the Somali government and the African Union troops in Somalia, but now they turned on each other.
The first clashes between the two groups began 1 October in Kismayo town. Since then they have been fighting in towns in Lower Jubba region.
