Somalia: Kenyan police arrest Puntland officials
NAIROBI (Mareeg)—Kenyan police have reportedly arrested two Puntland government officials in Nairobi, Kenya on Friday.
Qardho district commissioner and also the deputy interior minister of Puntland administration, Ali Yusuf Ali, have been detained in Nairobi.
Witnesses say Kenyan soldiers captured the men from Eastliegh neighborhood in Nairobi, where they have been targeting the Ethnic Somali population arresting more than 1000 people in their raids.
The motive behind the detention of the officials is not known, but ist comes as the Kenyan police have arrested a dozen of Somali lawmakers.
Kenyan is planning to deport more Somali immigrants who fled from the fighting in their country soon.
