Somalia: Islamist leader denies his group joined al Shabaab
MOGADISHU (Mareeg) – Sheikh Ahmed Mohamed Islam a leader of Raskamboni brigades denied that his group joined al Shabaab on Tuesday.

Sheikh Ahmed Islam says the officials who said yesterday they formed unity with al Shabaab were among the members of Raskamboni group.
Sheikh Ahmed Islam also known as Sheikh Ahmed Madobe is fighting al Shabaab in Lower Jubba region in southern Somalia.
Sheik Ahmed Madobe said that Sheik Hassan Turki was a sick and was not serving any post for Rakanboni stressing that the group was an independent organization that has no relation to any of the other groups in the country.
Raskmoni was among four Islamist groups that united under the name of Hizbul Islam last year.
There is no word from the leaders of Hizbul Islam about the statement issued from Baidoa town about the joining of Raskamboni group to al Shabaab.
