Somalia: Worst humanitarian crises face IDPS

MOGADISHU (Mareeg)—Worst Humanitarian crises have faced Somali Internally displaced people in Mogadishu outskirts, witnesses said on Wednesday.

The nearly daily wars in the capital Mogadishu displaced the reaming civilians from north Mogadishu and make the city ghost.

Omar Isse, who fled from recent fighting in the capital, told Mareeg online that he fled for third time from his house in March this year when fierce fighting between Islamist insurgents and government soldiers backed by African Union troops fought the area near his house.

“My family and I trapped in the house more than 12 hours and one of my young daughters was injured by shrapnel,” Omar said.

He resides now in Gubadley, a suburb of north Mogadishu and he does not get any support.

World food programme WFP suspended its food distribution after al Shabaab militants banned the agency in areas under their control.

People in Ealasha Biyaha and Afgoye are complaining water shortage. Residents in those areas say they are facing the worst since 2007 when the deadly wars started in the country.
