The United Nations has said arms embargo in Somalia is constantly violated and that the arms in Somalia has been entering the country illegally for the last 16 years.
The United Nations has said illegal arms in Somalia come from Eritrea and Yemen and other Islamic countries. The arms have been illegally entering the country since 1992, after the UN imposed an arms embargo against the country, said a report issued by the UN.
An organization appointed by the United Nations to monitor illegal fire arms entering into Somalia said the arms were smuggled from Yemen and Eritrea and were mainly for trade.
The report also said that the rebels who are fighting in Ethiopia get their arms from Yemen, which are then smuggled through Somalia, said the report.

US diplomats in Djibouti to hold talks with top Somali leaders
Diplomats from the US embassy in Djibouti are expected to hold talks today with the prime minister of the Transitional Government of Somalia, Nur Hassan Hussein aka Nur Adde, the chairman of the Alliance for the Re-Liberation of Somalia, Sheikh Sharif Shayk Ahmad, and the president Somaliland, Dahir Riyale Kahin. President Kahin flew from Hargeysa yesterday while Shaykh Sharif flew from Mogadishu.
Reporters in Djibouti say that they had been promised a report at the end of the talks. It is not clear what the US diplomats and Somali leaders will discuss.
